Yahoo! Completes Four11 Acquisition

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Oct. 23, 1997 -- Yahoo! Inc. today announced it has successfully completed the acquisition of Four11 Corporation, an online communications and directory company. In conjunction with the acquisition, Yahoo!® issued or reserved for issuance 1,654,099 shares of Yahoo! common stock for all Four11 shares, options and warrants. The transaction was accounted for as a pooling of interests.

Four11 is the creator of several directory services, including e-mail, phone and address listings, along with Internet-based communications services such as net-phone software tools and RocketMail, a free Web-based service. Yahoo! recently introduced Yahoo! Mail, a free, Web-based e-mail service based on RocketMail technology.

Yahoo! plans to leverage Four11's offerings to complement and grow Yahoo!'s already robust communications services, which currently include chat, message boards, classifieds, yellow pages and white pages. Four11's products include RocketMail, recently ranked the best free e-mail service by C|Net, the Four11 directory and Four11 Connect (net-phone software tools). Moving forward, Yahoo! will continue to grow the Four11 directory and net phone services and integrate them into the Yahoo! network of properties.
