WASHINGTON, Sep 29, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Washington Post and Yahoo! News, the No. 1 news website, today launched "The Fast Fix," a daily original video series featuring political news and analysis in about 60 seconds, featuring Chris Cillizza, managing editor of PostPolitics.com and author of "The Fix." The series is available at both washingtonpost.com and Yahoo! News.
The co-produced, co-branded video series features nonpartisan political commentary by The Washington Post's leading political reporter, who will cover the "so what?" and the "now what?" through fast, visually active analysis of both over-reported issues and important but under-reported political topics. "The Fast Fix" brings together reader submissions, social media, and Cillizza's own intellectual curiosity to inform the audience. Erik Rydholm--Emmy-winning creator of "Around the Horn" and "Pardon the Interruption"on ESPN--will serve as executive producer of "The Fast Fix," bringing a fresh creative perspective and pace to the world of political commentary.
"Since Chris Cillizza joined The Washington Post, his unique way of offering news and analysis has captured political aficionados and novices alike. We're always looking for smart, new ways to engage our readers, and we're excited to work with Yahoo! to offer a series of original, compelling videos. "The Fast Fix" is a vibrant extension of Cillizza's reporting that provides the most critical political news of the day for our online readers who might want more of "The Fix" or are crunched for time," said Raju Narisetti, managing editor, The Washington Post.
"Chris and The Washington Post will complement the distinct editorial voice of Yahoo! News's original video programs and blogs," said Mark Walker, head of Yahoo! News. "We expect "The Fast Fix" to become the daily fix for The Washington Post readers and Yahoo! News's 90-million-strong monthly audience."
